Microlab – University Quiz Updates

(Last 4 weeks)

Smarter Question Types

  • Quizzes directly on slides
You can now build quizzes right on top of high‑resolution histology and embryology slides. Students zoom, pan, and answer while seeing the exact regions you want them to focus on.

  • 3D model quizzes
Quizzes can use fully interactive 3D models, letting students rotate, zoom and explore structures before answering. Perfect for anatomy and complex spatial topics.

  • Image‑based questions
In addition to slides and 3D, questions can now be driven by standard images (photos, diagrams, charts). The mobile app shows these images beautifully and responsively.

Better Student Experience

  • Consistent viewing for every question type
Whether the question is on a slide, a 3D model, or an image, the viewer now loads reliably and adapts to the content.

  • Safer navigation during quizzes
If a student tries to leave a quiz, they see a clear warning explaining that leaving may cost them time. They can choose to stay or exit intentionally.

  • Protected results screen
After submitting a quiz, the results screen is protected from accidental “back” presses so students don’t lose their results view.

Pins, Maps & Future Heatmaps

  • Pins on slides
Questions can highlight precise locations on a slide (e.g. markers “A”, “B”, “C”). This supports questions like “Which labeled area corresponds to X?” and region‑based identification.

  • Foundation for heatmaps
Slide and pin interactions are now tracked in a way that will allow future heatmap‑style analytics—showing which areas students interact with most and where they struggle.

Insights & Engagement Around Questions

  • Reactions on questions and answers
Students can react to questions and explanations (for example with a heart), helping surface which questions are most useful or challenging.

  • Mention‑aware notifications
When someone comments on or mentions a student around a quiz question, the student receives a clear in‑app notification that takes them straight back to that question.
